We all have personal goals that we would like to achieve that would help fulfill our wildest dreams. My wildest dream is to ensure that every student in grades kindergarten through twelfth has access not only to a guitar but to a well-rounded music education. We need remember and understand the importance of education. The purpose of education is to teach and educate others in order for them to become productive members of society. How are we as educators and musicians teaching if we do not have the proper tools or knowledge to do so?

In my short time as an educator, I have seen music classrooms flourish because of the addition of a guitar program. Guitar programs take students who may have never considered themselves to be instrumentalist and turns them into excellent musicians. Unlike some of the other instruments and the methods that are used to teach them, the guitar allows students to learn fundamental techniques of the instrument and of musicianship side by side. Students who play the guitar are often fluent readers and have well balanced aural skills.

Though I have not started my own guitar program yet, I am looking to sometime in the near future. If your school is looking to start a program or if you are in need of assistance for your program that already exists, I would love to be of some help. In the meantime, please visit any of the links below to help start your program. Please use any of the social media links below or simply use the contact me page. I will be in touch to answer all of your questions and hopefully be of some guidance as you continue to educate and inspire.

Best of Luck!
