Important to note that this is primarily for pieces that have already been commissioned or written. Pieces that have not been premiered can be submitted with the understanding that payment for this call, aside from score purchase and acquisition, cannot be remitted at this time. About the Women of Guitar Video Project:
In late 2019 I came up with an idea to do a weekly video project where I wanted to learn a new piece and record a video of it all within the span of a week. Shortly thereafter I decided that I wanted this project to honor and feature women and non binary composers. So far I have learned and recorded
Why a Call for Scores:
I am running this call for scores in order to learn more about pieces that I have not been able to find out about in my previous research.
Qualifications and Stipulations:
-Composer must identify as a women or as non-binary in order to be considered for this project.
-Should be composed for either solo classical guitar or solo electric guitar
-Work should be between 2-5 minutes in length. Graphic scores, electronics, multimedia and interdisciplinary elements are welcome.
-Should be a piece that has already been premiered, commissioned, composed, etc.
-There is no submission fee and composer should understand that no payment will be received during this process.
-Composer can provide perusal score for viewing and should provide link to score purchase.
-Open to any composer regardless of residency or immigration status
-Open to any composer regardless of age, race, or orientation
OUTCOME:
-Selected Pieces/Composers will be presented in 2021-2022 concert programs.
-Composer will be listed and promoted in public performance materials.
-Composer will receive video recording from Youtube and dedicated page on project website.

To reiterate, this call is primarily for already composed works since there are limited funds available to support this project aside from music purchase / score copy acquisition. Of course, please feel free to submit scores that have not been premiered with the understanding that commissioning fees and adjacent payments cannot be remitted in that regard. If the piece is not been premiered, please make note of that in the program note section of the form.
